UPCOMING EVENTS

Landowner Meeting
at Arlington Echo

Thursday, March 11, 7:00pm - 8:30pm

975 Indian Landing Road, Millersville, MD

Did you know that land protection agreements not only preserve land for future generations but also greatly ease today’s tax burdens?

Join Scenic River Land Trust representatives and professionals in the land preservation field at Arlington Echo to learn more at this SRLT sponsored event.

Major benefits of our easement program include:

• Property remains in the ownership of the landowner, who may continue to live on it, sell it, or pass it on to heirs.
• Flexible terms can be written to meet the needs of the landowner while protecting the property’s resources.
• Permanent protection, remaining in force, when the land changes hands.
• Does not require public access.
• Potential for federal income tax deduction and state income tax credit
• Potential for lower estate and inheritance taxes to reflect the reduced development potential of the property subject to the easement; and
• Anne Arundel County landowners who establish an easement with a land trust are eligible for a perpetual 100% county property tax relief on the unimproved portion of their land.

Light refreshments will be served.

RSVP to alyssa@srlt.org or call 410-424-4000 by Tuesday, March 9 to reserve your seat.
