WHERE WE ARE
The Scenic Rivers Land Trust is able to accept and manage conservation easements within Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Our primary focus is on the Severn, South, Patuxent, Rhode and West River watersheds.
The population centers of Annapolis, and Arnold account for most of the residential and commercial development on the watershed. Official county figures project continued significant growth over the next twenty years. Increasing population pressures and development may bring permanent and irreversible loss to the watershed.
The Trust holds conservation easements in such diverse areas as Sullivan's Cove, Maynadier Creek Marsh, Willow Oak Herb Farm, Round Bay, Lake Liberty, Cool Spring Cove, Windgate, Epping Forest, Brown's Cove, Tidewater Colony, West Jabez Branch, Brewer Pond, and St. Stephen's Estates.
Over the past ten years twenty environmentally sensitive sites in the Severn River watershed, totaling approximately 200 acres, have been preserved in their natural state and protected in perpetuity by their landowners through establishing Conservation Easements with the Severn River Land Trust. Maps with descriptions of each of our easements as well as landowner interviews are easily available on our web site, Exec@SRLT.org. |
