Scenic Rivers’ Maryland Day Weekend Hike at the Contee Farm Portion of SERC
Join Scenic Rivers staff for a guided hike of the Contee Farm portion of the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center campus in celebration of Maryland Day 2026! Learn the history of the land and take in spectacular views. Be sure to show off your Maryland pride by wearing your favorite piece of “Maryland merch” on the hike!
All ages welcome, but please be aware that we will hike on unpaved trails through woods and fields. Pets are not permitted on the SERC campus and closed toe shoes are required. Length: 2-3 miles.
Meet at the gravel parking lot near the Woodlawn History Center on the SERC campus, 647 Contees Wharf Rd, Edgewater, MD 21037. The gravel parking lot is located to the left of the Woodlawn Center, just past security. It is the first left. Walk behind the building and meet our group at the side of the building.
