Scenic Rivers’ Erin Valentine Joins Leadership Anne Arundel Flagship Class of 2027
The 10-month program connects 51 leaders from across the County through monthly learning sessions focused on government, education, the environment and more
We’re excited to share that Scenic Rivers Land Trust Development and Communications Director Erin Valentine has been selected for the Leadership Anne Arundel (LAA) Flagship Class of 2027.
The ten-month Flagship program brings together 51 leaders from across Anne Arundel County representing nonprofit organizations, government, businesses, education, health care, the arts and other sectors. The program kicked off this month with a two-day opening retreat at Historic London Town & Gardens.
Over the coming months, Erin and her classmates will spend one full day each month learning about different facets of Anne Arundel County, including government, economic development, cultural arts, education, health and human services, law and public safety, the environment, and agriculture and South County.
For Erin, the opportunity is about more than professional development. It’s a chance to build relationships with people working across the County, gain a deeper understanding of the community Scenic Rivers serves, and bring new ideas and perspectives back to her work.
“I’m looking forward to getting to know the people in my class and learning more about the organizations and issues that shape Anne Arundel County,” Erin said. “Conservation work thrives when it’s paired with a deep understanding of the people and places you’re serving, so I’m excited to bring what I learn, along with the relationships I build, back to my work at Scenic Rivers.”
The Flagship program is designed to strengthen leadership skills while fostering connections and collaboration across sectors. For Scenic Rivers, Erin’s participation is also an opportunity to deepen the organization’s connections throughout the County and better understand the communities, partners and perspectives that shape our shared work.
