Scenic Rivers Applies for Renewal of National Accreditation

Public comments on application accepted until March 23, 2024

The land trust accreditation program recognizes land conservation organizations that meet national quality standards for protecting important natural places and working lands forever. Scenic Rivers Land Trust is pleased to announce we are applying for renewal of our accreditation. A public comment period is now open.

The Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance, conducts an extensive review of each applicant’s policies and programs.

“Accreditation demonstrates our commitment to the highest standards in land conservation practices and ethics,” said Sarah Knebel, Executive Director of Scenic Rivers Land Trust. “It is a signal to landowners, our partners, and the community that they can trust us with the important work of protecting the lands we need and love in Anne Arundel County.”

The Commission invites public input and accepts signed, written comments on pending applications. Comments must relate to how Scenic Rivers Land Trust complies with national quality standards. These standards address the ethical and technical operation of a land trust. For the full list of standards see http://www.landtrustaccreditation.org/help-and-resources/indicator-practices.
